About Us

J-Squared Lessons and Training is located on Saline Road near Missouri Highway 30, on a quiet, peaceful acreage. The eight-stall lesson barn has floor mats throughout, and a ceiling fan above each stall. Outside the clean, modern barns, you will find a lighted riding arena, a grassy, wooded pasture, and a round pen.

The barns and arenas are surrounded by grass and trees, which make for a calm, relaxing environment. The lesson barn is 8 stalls. The student barn is 10 stalls. We have an outdoor arena and a covered arena so that we no longer have to cancel for rain. Since we are not a boarding facility and have only one instructor, there are fewer distractions during your lesson.

We have nine lesson horses, all of which are registered Appaloosas. You may ride our horses, or you may trailer your own horses in. We train horses, too, but this is a service we offer only to students in our riding academy. If you want us to train your horse, you must sign up for lessons. Meet our animals.

We offer trail-ride lessons on a limited basis to advanced students only. The level of the student will be determined by the instructor during regular lessons in the riding arena.

Our instructor/trainer, Julie Wahby, is accomplished in both Western and English riding, as well as sidesaddle. We operate Monday through Saturday for scheduled appointments.

J-Squared is a lessons-and-training facility. We board on a limited basis for students only.

How did we get started? In 1996, after Jeff Wahby got out of the Navy, he bought the eight acres that is now J-Squared. Jeff's mother introduced him to Julie in 2002, when Julie was teaching Jeff's niece, Nickol, to ride. They began dating and were married in October of 2004.
